It’s got that old school charm that’s so gosh darn hard to resist. Boasting the widest range of art deco buildings in the world, you’ll think you’ve stepped back into the 1930’s. So please, step right this way Sir/Madame and let us show you around. There’s the main street, Marine Parade, which weaves along the waterfront, the Pania of the Reef statue, and of course those fine buildings with their hint of Maori influence. Simply divine.
Ok, so the locals don’t speak like they’re from 1930, but it’s fun to pretend. The activities are fairly un-1930’s too. Like quad biking. (Try being dignified on one of those. Impossible.) But perhaps you can find your posh side in the wineries that surround the region, although we recommend the wine tasting after the quad biking.
Napier – an olden-day treat with more than a few mod cons thrown in. All it’s really missing is…you.
