Experience Tasmania’s fascinating history, award winning wines and natural wonders on this jam-packed half-day tour. Start with a short drive to Port Arthur Lavender Farm for a mouth-watering morning tea before you explore the farm and distillery, sampling delicious fare. Then, drive through rolling green hills, farms, and quaint villages on the way to Pirate’s Bay Lookout. The view of the curving coastline, rugged cliffs and glistening water below is simply breathtaking. Enjoy award-winning wines at Bream Creek wines, established in 1973 and one of Tasmania’s oldest wineries. The tasting will be held at the Lufra hotel. The final stop is Eagle Hawk Neck, the slender isthmus that connects with mainland Tasmania. Enjoy stunning scenery, unique rock formations and discover the site’s intriguing past. View the officer’s barracks and ‘The Dog Line’ where savage dogs once guarded the isthmus to prevent convicts escaping from Port Arthur.
Guests will need to walk approximately 5-10 minutes over uneven ground and a slight incline from the tender arrival point to the coach departure point to reach the Visitor Centre. For safety reasons, guests with difficulty walking may not participate on this excursion. Guests must be 18 years or older to participate in wine tasting. Order of sights visited may vary. For safety reasons, guests with visual and/or hearing difficulties need to travel with a companion. Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, and bring plenty of biodegradable sunscreen, insect repellent and bottled water.
