Honoring Our Heroes

Carnival Cruise Line is the number one cruise line for active-duty military and veterans, and we do several things, both on board and in the community, to support those who serve our country, like military celebrations on all sailings in North America, and monetary donations for respected nonprofits.

Operation Homefront

Carnival is a proud supporter of Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping military families thrive in the communities they serve, providing essential support like rent-free housing to help wounded veterans and their families rebuild their lives.

Military Child of the Year

Carnival sponsors Operation Homefront’s Military Child of the Year Award, recognizing military children for their excellent academic performance, community service and leadership. Children with parents who serve in any of the five U.S. military branches — Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Space Force — are eligible to be chosen for this recognition.

Military Children of the Year receive a free Carnival cruise and more, including a $10,000 grant and a laptop computer, in honor of their perseverance and achievements in the face of the challenges of military life.

Monetary Donations

Through the combined monetary donations of our onboard guests, travel partners and Carnival’s direct giving, we have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Operation Homefront. For example, in honor of the inauguration of Carnival Jubilee® in Galveston, Texas, we auctioned off a pair of custom-made boots and raised $50,000 for the organization.

Carnival guests also support Operation Homefront when they purchase a special souvenir glass or a pint of Heroes American Pale Ale from at Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge™, with Carnival donating $1 to Operation Homefront for each.

NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR MUSEUM

As part of our commitment to honor the service of our nation's veterans, we are proud to be a Founders Circle supporter of the National Medal of Honor Museum, supporting the Museum's work of highlighting the recipients of our nation’s highest award for valor in combat.

SINISE FOUNDATION

The Sinise Foundation was established in 2011, by award-winning actor Gary Sinise, to support our nation’s veterans, first responders, wounded heroes, and families of the fallen. In 2024, Carnival President Christine Duffy completed a tandem skydive Indicates external site which may or may not meet accessibility guidelines. Opens in a new tab. over Tampa Bay to raise $85,000 for the foundation, in support of first responders assisting in relief efforts for Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The Sinise Foundation and Carnival continue their partnership, with the goal of making an impact in the lives of those who serve and protect our country.
