You don\u2019t even have time to think \u2013 the floor beneath your feet drops away and suddenly you\u2019re plunging down a slippery green tube, hurtling around twists and turns at 65 kilometres an hour.<\/h3>\n

It takes just 10 seconds until you splash down at the bottom, often to applause, particularly if you were a bit scared of doing it in the first place. It\u2019s the biggest thrill \u2013 you might even find it addictive.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve never been on Carnival Splendors Green Lightning<\/a>, take a deep breath, climb the steps to the top (taking in amazing ocean or port views as you go) and prepare yourself for a heart-stopping blast. Step into the capsule, cross your arms over your chest and before you know it, you\u2019re away.<\/p>\n

Many keen cruisers on Carnival Splendor head straight to Carnival WaterWorks on the top deck as soon as they board their ship, swimmers already on. Here, you\u2019ll find the SplashZone (for small children), the bright yellow Carnival Twister Waterslide, and the big one, Green Lightning.<\/span>\n\"Two<\/p>\n

Carnival Splendor’s Twister Waterslide<\/a> is a gentler ride \u2013 and if you\u2019re less than 122 centimetres tall or weigh more than 136.4 kilos, Green Lightning is out of bounds. (The Twister has a 1.1metre limit.) The SplashZone, which features mini-waterslides and a giant bucket that tilts to drench everyone underneath it, is the best area for children who aren’t tall enough for the waterslides and keeps little kids amused for hours.<\/p>\n

In addition to Carnival WaterWorks<\/a>, water babies on Carnival Splendor (who are out of nappies) have a choice of two pools. The main pool on Lido Deck and Splashy Cove on Deck 11. You’ll also find a pool and two spas in the Adult-Only Serenity Retreat, perfect for when the little ones are busy in kids club.\"Two<\/p>\n

There are plenty more outdoor activities and attractions: you can play basketball, cricket or dodgeball at the Sports Court<\/a> on Deck 12, or test your skills on the nine-hole mini-golf course on Deck 14. There’s also a fully equipped fitness centre to work off some cruise kilojoules while taking in expansive ocean views.<\/p>\n
