This has to be the most comprehensive tour of this picturesque peninsula, offering you an easy-paced, guided overview of Noumea's city, hills, bays, beaches and the countryside. Departing the wharf you head for the outlying district of Robinson. Here you will visit the little Church of La Conception, built by missionaries in 1874. This church and its cemetery remain a popular destination for hundreds of pilgrims who gather every year to celebrate the Assumption on August 15th.
Heading back to the city along the picturesque Promenade Vernier and past the Meridien Hotel, your next stop is Ouen Toro Lookout. From this vantage point (also home to a dignified World War II memorial) you'll gain an excellent view of the bays and beaches, across the lagoon to the small marine reserve islands with fringing coral reefs. Your final stop on this tour will be a local restaurant on Anse Vata beach where you'll enjoy a tasty morning or afternoon tea.
Note: Tour participation is limited during voyages that do not include a full-day call in Noumea. Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, SPF30+ or higher factor sunscreen and bottled water.
