Nihondaira Outlook: Embark on a photographic adventure with a brief drive to Nihondaira Park Outlook. Capture breathtaking panoramic views of Suruga Bay and the iconic Mt. Fuji as you enjoy this beautiful natural park.
Kunozan Toshogu Shrine: Board the aerial ropeway for breathtaking views as you ascend to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, built in honor of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The shrine complex is known for its striking vermilion architecture and is a cultural landmark overlooking Suruga Bay. Be sure to admire the decorative Romon Gate and the impressive Sadaijin guardian statue nearby.
Shaden Building: Climb the stone steps lined with ancient copper lanterns to the stunning Shaden main building, which includes the Honden, Ishinoma, and Haiden halls, known for their diverse architecture. Gaze at the intricate ceiling carvings and photograph the unique blue lion statue. You can buy a good-luck fortune to tie at the shrine, and feel free to venture into the woods to Ieyasu's tomb. Finish your tour with a pleasant ropeway descent back to your motorcoach.
Good to Know: There are still approximately 120 steep steps at Kunozan Toshogu shrine. The small museum near the tomb of Ieyasu is not included in the tour. Views of Mt. Fuji are weather dependent. If the weather is poor, the ropeway may be closed, and as a result, this tour will be canceled.
