Dazaifu Shrine: Experience the Dazaifu Shrine, dedicated to the revered 9th-century scholar Sugawara no Michizane. This shrine is particularly popular among students seeking success in school entrance exams. Michizane's legacy is honored with over 12,000 shrines across Japan, with Dazaifu Tenmangu being the most notable. Visit during spring to see the stunning 6,000-plus plum trees in bloom, including the famous Tobiume, or Flying Plum, said to have followed Michizane in exile by flying down from Kyoto to Dazaifu.
