Immerse yourself in the living exhibits that showcase time-honored festivals, cuisine and crafts. Try your hand at local folk arts like pottery, painting and playing the sanshin guitar. Traditional Okinawan cuisine is featured in nearby food stands.
Shikinaen Garden: Recognized today as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shikinaen Garden boasts simple wooden buildings and pavilions with tile roofs that are artfully situated among traditionally landscaped grounds, connected by manicured paths that meander over graceful stone bridges, through small forests and around a central pond.
Requirements & Restrictions: Guests must be able to walk over uneven surfaces and stairs. Shikinaen Garden is not wheelchair accessible.
Good to Know: The garden is closed on Wednesdays. Trial class is available if there is vacancy at Rykyu Mura (additional cost).
