Cruising Adventure: Cruise the stunning Otago Harbour to Taiaroa Head, discover its wildlife and visit the breeding areas of one of the world’s largest seabirds, the Northern Royal Albatross. Cruise part of Otago Harbour and view stunning scenery with informative guided commentary about the region's rich geology and history. At Tairoa Head, get up close to the only mainland colony of the Northern Royal Albatross with its impressive three-meter wingspan. You’ll also see a breeding colony of New Zealand fur seals and up to twenty other species of marine birds.
Accessibility: This tour is not accessible and therefore is unable to accommodate guests who are wheelchair users, or those who rely on scooters, canes, rollators, or other assistive devices.
What to Bring: Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, and bring plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bottled water.
Good to Know: Limited binoculars are provided on a share basis; bring along your own binoculars to enhance your views. There is a short shuttle transfer from the ship’s wharf to the tour vessel. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
