Get off the grid and back to nature in the depths of the Daintree Rainforest. Widely accepted as the oldest tropical rainforest in the world, the oldest part is north of the Daintree River and estimated to be over 150 million years old! Take a ferry ride across the Daintree River for a guided tour with a knowledgeable ranger at the Daintree Discovery Centre and gain amazing insight into this fascinating rainforest. Climb the 23-metre-high Canopy Tower with five different viewing platforms. Wander along the Aerial Walkway through mid-level rainforest with stunning views over McLean’s Creek. Explore the Interpretive Display Centre, over 400 metres of elevated boardwalks wind their way through the rainforest.
Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket. Bring plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bottled water. Guests must be able to board the coach unassisted and sit in a coach seat. This tour is not suitable for guests who utilize a wheelchair, and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of fitness. Some walkways are steel mesh. Optional steps and length of walk during free time is at guests’ discretion. Included walks are at moderate pace.
