Scenic Heights: Enjoy a scenic coach drive from the Port of Tauranga to the beautiful city of Rotorua. Conveniently located just minutes away from Rotorua’s city centre, on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Skyline Gondola Cableway provides panoramic views of Rotorua city, Lake Rotorua and the surrounding area. Travel 487 metres above sea level to a fun park environment. Try your skills on the luge, a fun-filled gravity ride on a three-wheel cart. The unique braking and steering system provide full control and allows you to travel as fast or as slow as you wish. Three separate sealed tracks wind down through the redwood trees and your day out includes a ride on a track of your choice. Enjoy free time at Skyline.
What’s Included:
Accessibility: Guests should be comfortable independently navigating a few steps (up/down) when boarding and exiting the transportation. Participants must be in good health and be free of limiting conditions.
Requirements & Restrictions: The advanced luge track is suitable for guests aged 10+ years or older. Children under 6 years must ride tandem. Not advisable for guests who are prone to motion sickness. For safety reasons, pregnant woman and guests with neck or back conditions or mobility concerns may not participate in this excursion.
What to Bring: Comfortable, flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, a jacket, biodegradable sunscreen, and bottled water.
Good to Know: Full instructional information and key do's and don'ts are provided prior to riding the luge. Tour includes three luge rides. Please note there may be extended wait times for the luge during peak periods. This may restrict the number of rides. Food & Beverage services are available at Skyline Gondola, at your own expense. The drive from the ship to Skyline takes approximately 90- minutes each way.
